This is not something that can really be measured. But it is something that can truly be life changing for many patients who opt to have this procedure.

It is important to have a long term plan which you will discuss with your surgeon to ensure the long lasting results. So when picking your surgeon make sure no stone is left unturned.

This is difficult to determine but we focus on several pre-op factors:

1.  How aggressive is your hair loss
2.  Age
3.  Are you on any stabilising medication
4.  A family history
5.  Donor quality
6.  Expectations
7.  Previous health conditions

It is a 3 part process.

The first Extraction:

Using specialised micro punches we cherry pick one at a time the perfect hair follicles from the donor area and prepare them using high powered magnification for implantation.

The Second; The incisions.

This is the design and artistry element of the procedure. At The Mittal Clinic we use specialised sapphire blades which allow precise incisions with varying sizes to ensure the right type of hair graft fits the correct type of incision.

Dr Mani himself has perfected the art of high density restoration procedures and has gone on to teach his methods to some of his more junior peers.

The final stage is implanting:

There are times when incisions and implanting may be done at the same time. Often using implanter pens.

But our most common method is using forceps to strategically place the grafts one at a time precisely into the incisions as described above.

The procedure may last between 5-8 hours

Being minimally invasive reduces the chance of visible scarring. With good spacing and an experienced surgeon removing the grafts from the back of the head the scarring can be expected to be kept at a minimum.

This makes this procedure more suitable for those who want versatile haircuts.

However, depending on the level of difficulty of the procedure and the number of surgical sessions you may need, the cost of a FUE hair transplant might range anywhere from £4000. The UK’s pricing strategies vary and we are very transparent with a fixed cost per graft.

Some of the important considerations to take when opting to have a procedure:

1. Who will be doing a what part of the procedure.
2. How hands on is the surgeon, what does he/she do specifically?
3. How many other patients will be done on that day and how many other patients will your surgeon be doing that day
4. Is It a regular team? Who is that team?
5. Are they a member of the IAHRS?
6. Would you be able to speak to any of their previous patients?
7. How many procedures have they done and can they show you a portfolio of their work. 

There is no right answer and each patient should be assessed on their own merit.

Generally speaking however:

Those who have extensive hair loss and hence need a high number of grafts should go for a FUT treatment. However, FUE transplants may be preferable for people who need fewer grafts or who want to go back to their regular lives quickly post-treatment.
