Stabilizing Hair Loss and Boosting Confidence: A Hair Transplant Journey for a Business Traveler

Patient Profile:

Sri is a 34-year-old man with great donor hair. We consulted with him and put him on a protocol to try and stabilise his hair loss at our hair transplant clinic.

Consultation and Treatment Plan:

After discussing Sri’s pattern of hair loss, we decided to start by putting him on combination of finasteride and minoxidil treatment and waiting for 12 months to see if there was any significant change in his hair loss pattern.  We then decided to do a hair transplant procedure after monitoring his hair loss cycles and didn’t notice much difference. The original plan was to do 2100 grafts. We put him on PRP after the procedure to improve the quality of the existing hair throughout the scalp.

Hair Transplant Procedure:

We performed a FUE hair transplant procedure that involved 1800 grafts as he bled extensively on the day, which made the procedure more challenging than expected. We were able to extract a total of 1800 grafts safely, so really had to maximise the location of where the extracted grafts were going to be placed. Because of the constant bleeding we were not able to go as high density packing as we usually like, but because of the quality of the grafts obtained we were able to relocate the grafts adequately without needing as dense packing as originally planned for.

Results:

Twelve months after the procedure, Sri’s results were beautiful, with a natural-looking uptake of grafts. He had further improvement in the rest of his hair after taking PRP. We did a total of five PRP sessions for him.

Post-Surgery:

Sri has gone on to thrive in his personal career and feels more confident in himself, whether it’s getting in the swimming pool, going cycling, going to social events, or speaking. He’s just so much more confident in his appearance overall.

Conclusion:

Sri’s hair transplant procedure was successful despite the bleeding challenges that occurred. With the addition of PRP sessions, combined with finasteride and minoxidil,  we achieved natural-looking results and further improvement in his existing hair.
