Shoud I cut my hair before my transplant?

On the day of surgery, we actually prefer to see your hair the way that it normally is. The reason being is that when redesigning your hairline, it helps to see the full picture — including what may have been missed at the initial consultation. Sometimes, as with any art form, you see things a little differently on the day itself. There have been cases where a hairline has been drawn at consultation and then refined further on the day of the procedure, going a little more aggressive based on what is visible in person.

Keeping your hair at its natural length allows us to see a truly holistic picture of your hair loss — the density, the pattern, the direction of growth — all of which inform the final design. It gives us the best possible canvas to work from and helps ensure your result looks as natural as it can.

So please don't cut your hair before your procedure. If you'd like a tidy up, cutting the back and sides is absolutely fine — but please leave any areas we may potentially be working on completely untouched. When in doubt, leave it as it is and let us guide you on the day.
