Eyebrow Transplant Procedure & FUE Technique

Eyebrow Transplant Procedure & FUE Technique

An eyebrow transplant at the Mittal Hair Clinic is performed using FUE — Follicular Unit Extraction — the same advanced technique used in hair transplant surgery. It's a precise, minimally invasive method where individual hair follicles are carefully harvested and reimplanted one by one by Dr. Mani

Donor hair is usually taken from behind the ears or the nape of the neck, where the texture tends to be finer and closer in character to natural eyebrow hair. Dr. Mani implants each follicle at a specific angle and direction to mimic the way eyebrows naturally grow, so the end result lies flat and looks completely natural — not transplanted.

The whole procedure is done under local anaesthetic and takes a few hours. Most patients are surprised by how straightforward the day actually is.

What to Expect on the Day

Before anything begins, Dr. Mani will sit down with you to map out the shape, symmetry and density of your new eyebrows. Nothing is rushed — this part of the process matters, and your input is central to it.

Once the local anaesthetic is applied, most patients are comfortable throughout. The procedure itself typically runs between three and five hours depending on how many grafts are needed. You can relax, put some music on, watch something — it's a long sit, but a calm one. You go home the same day.

Recovery & Aftercare

The first few days you'll notice some redness and mild swelling around the treated area — that's completely normal and settles quickly. Small scabs will form around each graft as part of the healing process. Leave them alone and let them fall naturally; picking at them can affect your results.

Dr. Mani provides full aftercare guidance before you leave, and the clinic is always on hand if questions or concerns come up during recovery. Most people are back to their normal routine within a week.

The same FUE process used in eyebrow transplants is the gold-standard technique at the heart of all hair transplant surgery at the Mittal Hair Clinic — refined and adapted to suit the unique precision that eyebrow restoration demands.

When Will You See Results?

This is the question almost every patient asks Dr.Mani so it's worth being honest about it: eyebrow transplant results take time.

In the first few weeks, the transplanted hairs will shed. This is normal — it's part of the process, not a sign anything has gone wrong. New growth typically starts to appear around the three to four month mark, with the fuller, final result coming through somewhere between eight and twelve months.

One thing worth knowing: because the donor hairs come from the scalp, they'll grow a little faster than natural eyebrow hairs at first. You'll need to trim them regularly for a while. Most patients find this settles down as the hair gradually adjusts to its new environment.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Eyebrow transplants work well for a wide range of patients — people who've lost brow hair through over-plucking, scarring, alopecia or thyroid conditions, as well as those who simply have naturally sparse brows and want more definition.

That said, not everyone needs surgery, and Dr. Mani won't recommend it unless it's genuinely the right option for you. During your consultation he'll take a thorough look at your hair loss pattern, your donor supply and what you're hoping to achieve — and give you an honest assessment of what's realistic. If there's a better route, he'll tell you.
