Do I need someone to accompany me?
On the morning of your procedure, you don't need anyone to accompany you to the clinic. You're perfectly fine to travel in independently and our team will be there to welcome you and get you settled from the moment you arrive.
Where it really helps to have someone with you is after the surgery, for the journey home. Not just for practical reasons — though having someone to escort you home safely is always advisable — but because the post-operative instructions we go through before you leave are detailed and comprehensive.
It's a lot of information to absorb at the end of a long and tiring day, and having a second pair of ears there to take it all in can be genuinely valuable. Even though we provide a full written aftercare leaflet for you to take home, having someone alongside you who heard the instructions first hand means you're less likely to have questions or uncertainties in those first critical days.
That said, if bringing someone with you simply isn't possible, it's not the end of the world. Many of our patients travel home alone without any issues. The aftercare leaflet covers everything you need and our team is always available to answer any questions that come up in the days that follow.
